Windmills are an iconic part of the Dutch landscape, and a visit to one is a must for visitors to the Netherlands.
Well, as you might know, a couple of weeks ago, Emily Kornya hopped on a train to Enschede, Holland, to visit a windmill for the first time in her life. We visited The Lonneker Molen, definitely one of the most beautiful and interesting windmill in Holland if you ask us.
This particular windmill is historical and has unique properties, such as thatching on top of a brick structure. In addition to walking around the outside it is possible to visit (on Wednesday and Saturday’s) three floors of the four-floor windmill and walk around the upper part as well. The shop on the first floor sells stone ground grains and mixes made at the mill and from products by local farmers.
Definitly worth the trip and a great location for a playdate! Get inspired!
