MAKE A SNOWGLOBE A LA ELLEN

The sparkling magic of snowfall is always fascinating, whether it’s outside your window or inside this classic toy. Homemade globes let you create a wintry scene straight out of your own imagination.

Looking for a fun activity to do at home with your children!? Make a snowglobe a la Ellen!

Snowglobe

Almost any jar works for this project: Baby-food, jam, and olive jars are good choices. Look for plastic or ceramic figurines  at brocantes (flea markets) and hobby shops. You will also need distilled water, glitter, superglue, glass markers and masking tape.

If the jar lids are not in seasonal colors already, use some masking tape. With superglue, glue the figurine to the inside of the lid, and let it dry.

Fill the jar almost to the top with distilled water; add as much glitter as you want but make sure you don’t add too much, or the glitter will stick to the bottom of the jar when it’s flipped. Screw on the lid tightly and turn the jar over and back again — and let it snow.
