Dallana Bayanni, the designer of the French brand Milapinou, is a young mother with a new vision and inspiration… the designs are appropriate for the new mum and her baby, as well as for mums-to-be. Clothing that is tailor-made with true style and functionality.
Using a wide variety of natural fibers, organic fabrics to protect the environment, along with special touches, such as embroidery made by the hands of the artisan women of her beloved Mexico, Dallana creates designs that transform the women who wear them into little woodland nymphs ready to run through the forest.
Time for an interview with Dallana!
Tell us a little about your background? How did you come to be a children’s fashion designer?
Eventhough I gratuated from Atelier Chardon Savard, a French fashion institute, in 2008, it all began when my daughter Mila was born.
What inspires your work, and what do you want to inspire in others though your work?
The message that Milapinou wants to convey, is a message of love, tenderness and complicity between a mother and her child.
What is your favorite piece from the SS14 collection?
The Luce body.
Do you have children? How does that influence your work?
I have 2 children, and my daughter loves wearing my creations. I take inspiration from them at any moment. One time, my daughter was making some “drapé” with a piece of fabric to dress herself, I liked it so much that it gave me an idea for a new design.
What are the most rewarding and most challenging aspects of your job?
The most challenging aspect of my job is to make a good collection in a short time. It can be hard to be a designer and mother at the same time. However, positive comments from my fans are rewarding and motivate me.

I love Paris, there is always new things to visit or discover.. For shopping, take a walk to the Marais. For children, visit the zoo that has just opened his doors. For gourmand, taste éclair with raspberry at « l’éclair du génie » or choux à la crème at « Odette »
For inspiration, visit the workshop store « Legeron” who realize pretty flowers in silk haute couture for prestigious maison de mode. For lunch, take a break at « Merci »
