I first discovered Coral and Tusk in Paris, when I visited the shop Astier de Villatte. Soon after I went online to see what else they have in their collection as my son Alexander was immediately attracted to the beautiful embroideries.
I can easily see why children are drawn to Stephanie Housley’s designs, pretty embroideries on baby shoes, t-shirts, stationary, framed artwork and pillows. All the designs start as hand drawings and are then digitised and styled to create these wonderful patterns.
First enchanted by the natural world during childhood trips to the Eastern seaboard, Stephanie’s frequent travels now span the globe and show through in all her work. With designs inspired by a love of animals, travel and adventure Coral and Tusk takes you on a journey past hungry whales into the ocean depths and all the way the treetops to meet smilingmustachioed tamarinds.
