Spanish children’s fashion is getting ready to ride the waves for Spring/Summer 2017. The music of the Beach Boys can be heard coming from the surf shack where the boy and girl are getting their boards ready wearing outfits that range in colour from aquamarine to blue, and mixing with red, white, and black. A taste of this season’s colour palette. On the horizon, a sprawling, white-sand beach and a majestic ocean.
The heat of the sun is an invitation to show off the latest in swimsuits. Not only classic Bermuda shorts, but shorts, bikinis, and swimsuits that feature safari and tropical prints with decorative frills. A must for little girls this summer: the bandannas and cat’s-eye sunglasses.
The boys are wearing Bermuda shorts paired with short sleeved button-up shirts and t-shirts full of surfer motifs: palm trees, pineapples, waves, surfboards… The girls are in over-sized t-shirts, jumpsuits, shorts, and baggy viscose pants.
They talk, exchange looks, joke around with the sound of the waves as pleasant background noise. Among the verses of Surfing USA a ukelele can be heard. For him, linen is formal wear, while she aims to surprise with structured silhouettes and noble prints and fabrics. Every summer has its story, and that of Spanish childrenswear is about to begin!
