Time for an interview with Bóboli‘s Marketing Manager, Cristina García.
Would you mind introducing yourself and your brand to our readers?
Hi! This is Cristina García, Bóboli’s marketing manager. I’m 35 years old and I’ve been in the company for nine years, time does fly!!
Bóboli is a kidswear brand from Barcelona, colorful, mischievous and funny. We were born in Barcelona more than 30 years ago and it’s a family owned company, nowadays we arrive to more than 50 countries.
Can you tell us a bit more about the AW15 collection?
The new collection is inspired by five main trends: NORTHERN LIGHTS (the Northern lights from the coldest countries were the inspiration for this trend, where cool colors like green and blue are combined with several patterns). FLOWER WORLD (All the lines of the collection come together with this trend, where colors mix up and dress all the collection with colors and flowers). WHITE WINTER (classical colors with new and crafted textures). ETHNIC (with clean colors and from the origins of America, this Ethnic influence vigorously presents themes with lots of patterns and great richness). MAKE A WISH (black and white mixed with bright copper details to present very youthful clothes).
What was your background prior to starting Boboli?
I came to Bóboli from the biggest jeans company in Spain, where I was leading Retail department.
What got you started working in children’s fashion?
Bóboli made me a job proposal and I thought it would be extremely interesting. I guessed it would be an amazing adventure and I was right!!!
Do you have children?
Yes I do, a 9 nine month old little girl.
What has changed in your life since you became a mother?
I’ve discovered the true meaning of love. I don’t live for me anymore, now I live for someone else.
What is the best thing about being a mother?
Waking up every morning and seeing my baby’s smile!
What is your advice for new mums?
Be patient!
How do you combine motherhood and work?
It’s very tough, but my husband is a huge help!
How do you make sure everything is in balance (work, family, friends)?
Probably it’s the most difficult task of being a mother… I try to do my best putting my heart and my brain in every decision. Good friends understand and share.
What’s your favorite design from your current line?
Too hard to pick!
What are some essentials that every child should have in their closet / toyroom?
In her closet, I always have good quality bodies, handmade cardigans and denim pieces from head to toe.
In her toyroom, smooth animals, wooden toys, musical ones… every kid is different!
Where do you shop for you children?
I’m really a lucky mother! I buy most of my baby’s clothes at Bóboli. I also shop at other companies because I like to be aware of what they offer! Bonton, Minirodini, Bobochoses…
If one of our readers is in your city, Barcelona, for 24 hours. What things would you recommend they do?
I’d have breakfast at Ciutadella park, I’d rent a bicycle and I’d ride all through the old town (Born, Barri Gótic, Raval, La Ribera…) and I’d go to Gracia for lunch. Then I’d take the bike and I’d go down to la Barcelona to have a nice supper in front of the sea.
