Last week Barcarola walked the runway to show it’s summer 2018 collection in Ponte Vecchio, Florence, and Emily Kornya was there to capture it.
“We colourise our shining childrens’ lives.” This is how Barcarola presents itself to the world of children’s fashion. The fact of the matter is that colours and sheen have distinguished their elaborate silhouettes for three decades now. The nobility of their natural materials and the effectiveness of their technical textiles are expertly combined to create modern-day romantic designs.
Any idea where the name of the brand comes from? A barcarola is a folk song played by Venetian gondoliers during the romantic period. They’re the romantic echoes that are the driving force of our products.
Barcarola like to use natural materials in their collections like cotton, linen, silk, and wool. Their design team attends the biggest textile fairs, and they’re never persuaded by price when including certain materials in their collections. Quality always comes first. For instance, their lining is always crafted in cotton in order to avoid allergies.
Good to know is that Barcarola presents four collections a year: Communion, Baby, Summer, and Winter. The first two are clearly differentiated with regard to product and age. The most diverse are the Summer and Winter collections, since they create a broad variety of families and encompass a full range of sizes, from 1 to 18 years old.
The Barcarola summer 2018 is a young, elegant collection as you can see that definitely doesn’t shy away from sophistication.
