A brand that needs no introduction, Gucci Kids is the high-end childrenswear line of the luxury Italian fashion label. Founded in 1921 in Florence, Gucci draw on almost 100 years of design experience to inform their manufacturing process, creating exquisitely crafted collections of childrens clothing made from the finest quality fabrics and materials.
This season we see blue tigers, bright red ribbons mixed with tenderly rose and apple green Vichy caros… gold and glitter… The Gucci Kids AW16 collection is a firework of colours… very fauve, very pop, very wild… almost breathtakingly glowing colours… like Henri Matisse’s late cut outs!
Alessandro Michele, since 2015 Gucci’s new creative director did magic with his lavish appliqués, intricate embroideries and a very unique way of mixing colours and forms… moon, stars, flowers, snails, butterflies… on shoes and dresses and trousers… almost as lavish, exuberant and shrill as a Flemish still-life mixed with Hippie-Flower-Power during a Renaissance party…
Seems one can mix and match those unique fairy dresses and trousers and socks and shoes and jackets endlessly… Denim has an almost pop 70s approach, with that glowing embroideries…
